2 teenagers murdered and another seriously injured. 8 people arrested.

My theory :

Some kids had a party, some girls informed some nice young chaps from London who gatecrashed the gaff or went round sexually assaulting people and two relatively innocent local boys got stabbed in the process.

I can’t see it being gang related which is normally the case when kids get stabbed.

2 gangs apparently, had an altercation earlier in the evening.

When I was a teenager I was playing headers and volleys in the park not going out armed to the teeth.

Shocking to hear what’s happened in the town I’ve lived in for 25 years and having 3 kids 22,18,14.
My two eldest sons went to the game today and aren’t back yet,but they rarely go out in Brentwood weekends,tend to go up town or sometimes Chelmsford.
It’s worrying what’s happened although from what I’ve heard the police have caught the murdering cunts.
This incident sounds particularly nasty,two kids dead,fucking hell.
Until anyone that is found in possession of a knife without a fucking good reason gets banged up fuck all will change.

I thought it was a safe place to go out for a few pints which I do once a weekish but I’m in my 50’s and tend to go out on a Friday between 4 until 7ish then fuck off home or go for an early curry with a few mates.
After talking to my boys(both born and bred in Brentwood they said it’s dodgy) they swerve Brentwood Friday and Saturday nights as it can be ag.
I have heard the same but didn’t take it seriously having grown up in Dagenham/Romford it obviously is, having said that I suppose a a similar incident could happen anywhere.
What a sorry state of affairs.

Mobile phones and social media have a lot to answer for, young peoples heads are fucked these days, at least in the UK anyway, and can organise shit in a heartbeat. Plus no fear of plod, going to jail, etc. Roof over head, don't have to get a job, pay bills, etc.

What role models were these people following to be able to develop an attitude that it's perfectly acceptable to wander the streets fully tooled up?

Equally importantly, what were the people tasked with being such role models (parents, teachers, government - yes, I'm looking at YOU) doing to allow these low mores to become the norm?

In my opinion, they were probably too busy getting on with their own pre-parenthood entitled lifestyles to focus (adequate, not all) attention on those they were now responsible for; parents having a social down the pub with their friends, teachers pushing CRT above an education and politicians only (ever) interested in gaining and keeping power, whatever it costs (someone else).

As such, their offspring chose their own paths & role models from an early age, and, being only young, were attracted by the "glamorous" (but fictitious) Hollywood-led irresponsible but exciting lifestyle that poured relentlessly into their homes every day.

Is there a path back now? I doubt it. Is there a solution at all? Highly unlikely.

The lunatics run the asylum. The only route to self-survival, let alone a reasonably secure lifestyle may be to just fuck off and leave them to it.

We didn't have much (didn't need much either), we had freedom to roam and be children.

By 11 they have phones and can 'communicate' directly or indirectly anywhere on any subject, having first been able to stream sex and violence with a narrative picked out to get to actively get them watching.

Over lockdown I started going out cycling with my my Goddaughter and her Dad and soon the other daughter started joining us. The joy they got out of the freedom to just cycle out was lovely to see, but as soon as they got back the phones came out and the clique dramas started up again.

A gradual move into adulthood is not

You often get a load of people from out the area go into Brentwood due to the TOWIE effect and people wanting to go Sugar Hut.

Why on earth would you want to take a knife out with you on a night out, just baffles me.

None of the kids fear authority anymore, they deffo aren't scared of the Old Bill that's for sure.

I'd have been shitting myself about any punishment dished out by my 'rents and would have shit myself even more about getting nicked.

I can remember Brentwood as a lovely town with a high street, 11 pubs was it and many of them more like country pubs? local shops, 2 cinemas etc. You would enjoy a lovely stroll down there, chat to local people etc. But 50 years later, TOWIE and population increase, orange tans, white teeth, bling and a change of demographic in London now seems to have impacted.
It is arguably an extension of London and with that change of demographic has come a criminal element and the knife crime etc?

But those who live there now and go out regularly will know better. Shame, the price of "progress" :-( but then again I'm an old nostalgic git who is beginning to lament what we have lost which I suppose is the natural thing as you get older.

I live in Brentwood now, there isn’t really a TOWIE element anymore, think only that Gemma Collins has a shop there, sugar hut has been closed for years.

Still a nice area, obviously this is shocking and out of place with a normally quiet neighbourhood.

You will always get something with a high street with a few pubs and bars on it, alcohol and drugs will always ensure something however little or large happens during the night. It’s nothing new.

Everywhere is turning into a shithole

These kids that are in drug gangs and run about with knives and acid are everywhere these days. Police are nowhere to be seen, there's no deterrents at all.

And if you dont get stabbed youll probably get your car nicked or mugged on way home from a night out. London and the surrounding areas are not nice places to be any more
